Performances at Church of St. Thomas the Apostle, Old Bridge NJ
One St. Thomas Plaza, Route 18 South

A live performance of the music of Arvo Pärt is a rare experience in central New Jersey, despite its being widely recorded and celebrated. Considered a post-modern composer and a “mystic minimalist,” Pärt describes his music as “tintinnabular”—like the sound of a bell. Both works invite contemplation, through the warm, consoling and embracing style of Fauré’s Requiem, and Pärt’s detached, pure sound, like ancient ritual or medieval chant.

In our time, hope and solace are needed by many who know the human cost of war. We dedicate these concerts to the veterans of the wars of the 20th and 21st centuries and those who have given their lives in hopes of a better world.
