Philomusica presents “Celestial Light,” a program that delves into themes of celestial exploration, astronomy, and light. This performance will feature the East Coast premiere of Melissa Dunphy’s multi-movement work Following a Light, originally written in celebration of the world's first International Dark Sky City, Flagstaff, Arizona. Other selections include Gjeilo's Northern Lights, Brahms' O Schöne Nacht, Betinis' Lumen, Haydn's The Heavens Are Telling, Ames' In Remembrance, and the seventeenth-century Peruvian hymn Hanacpachap cussicuinin.
