Magnificat!
Philomusica presents Magnificat & Nunc Dimittis settings by Durante, Coleridge-Taylor, and Rimkus, and to other works of praise and celebration. The 3 Mag/Nunc settings exhibit 3 excitingly disparate approaches to the traditional liturgy, both musically and in terms of historical era and demographic background of each composer. We’ll hire local instrumentalists & vocal soloists for the Durante, and perform S’vivon arr. Shields, Umoja by Z. Robles, and carol Los Peces en el Rio.
